Usually about 6-8 months after owning a new PC, you might start to notice your fans making noise. This can be irritating and distracting while you’re working from home. So it is very important to know how to adjust your PC’s fans yourself. There are many great tools available to help set and monitor your PC fans. Speedfan for example is one of the oldest tools, almost as old as Windows itself. With a super easy to use GUI, you will not only be able to monitor your CPU’s temperature, but you can manually adjust your fan speeds to achieve the optimal temperatures without having your fans work overdrive. You can also access both the S.M.A.R.T info and digital temperature sensors.
Configuring this tool is simple. You will just need to manually set the fan speed limits. For example if you are using a program that is heavy on the CPU such as Adobe After Effects, you can set a minimum speed for your fans. By keeping a constant higher than average speed, your fans will keep your CPU cool so they don’t have to work extra hard to bring it back down to a normal temperature. By setting a maximum temperature limit with Speedfan, your fans will activate when it reaches the threshold to prevent overheating when the temperature gets too high.
